Allowing Local Network Access

Overview

Local Network access lets an app discover and communicate with devices on the same Wi-Fi network: printers, scanners, and other connected equipment. Enabling it lets the app find and connect to those devices.

Step 1

On the Home screen, locate the Settings app and tap to open it.

Tip: to get to the Home Screen, press the Home button, or on devices without one, swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.

Step 2

On the left-hand menu, scroll all the way down and tap Apps.

Step 3

Find the app using the Search bar or by scrolling the list, then tap it to open its settings. (Example: Printer Setup)

If the app still can't find your printer after enabling Local Network, confirm the iPad is connected to the same network as the printer. Alternatively, contact Choose 2 Rent Support.

Forgetting a Network / Disabling Auto-Join

Forgetting a Network / Disabling Auto-Join

Overview

Forgetting a Wi-Fi network removes the saved connection details, password and settings, from the iPad or iPhone. The device no longer auto-connects to that network unless you manually reconnect and re-enter the password. Commonly used to troubleshoot connection issues, switch networks, and avoid printer disconnection.

Step 1

On the Home screen, locate the Settings app and tap to open it.

Tip: to get to the Home Screen, press the Home button, or on devices without one, swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.

Step 2

On the left-hand menu, tap Wi-Fi.

Step 3

On the right-hand side, find the Wi-Fi network you want to forget, then tap the Info (ⓘ) icon next to its name. (Example: CoxWifi)

Setting up Guided Access

Setting up Guided Access

Guided Access locks the iPad or iPhone to a single app. It can also disable specific features such as the Home gesture or button, the side button, the volume buttons, touch input, or certain areas of the screen. This stops users leaving the app or changing device settings, which makes it ideal for kiosks, event check-in, and other dedicated-use scenarios.
