Troubleshooting

Issue Possible Cause Resolution
Printing Issues: Skipping Labels / Double Badge Printing / Not Printing
  • Badge paper loaded incorrectly.
  • Media sensor obstructed / misaligned.
  • Printer not calibrated.
  • Pre-Printed Badge Stock.
  • Loading Badge Stock:
    • Open the lid.
    • Make sure the badge paper is properly inserted with the timing mark facing down and inwards towards the printer sensors.
    • Close the lid and press the Pause button once to unpause.
  • Clearing Media Sensors:
    • Open the lid.
    • Wipe down any particles stuck to the top or bottom sensors that are preventing the printer from reading the badge stock.
    • Make sure the media sensor is aligned with your media's marks or notches, usually the middle.
  • Calibrating the printer:
    • Press and hold the Pause and Cancel buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds. The printer will begin calibration.
    • When finished, open the printer head and reload the media used for calibration.
  • If using pre-printed badge paper that contains a dark segment on top, cover the top sensor on the printer with dark tape to avoid interference.
Jamming Labels
  • Badge stock residue is stuck inside the roller.
  • Remove sticky residue from roller:
    • Open the printer head.
    • Back out any badge stock over the black roller at the front of the printer.
    • At both sides of the roller are 2 black plastic latches sticking out. Place your thumb on the inside of each latch, slightly push outwards and pull the latches out.
    • Use an Alcohol Swab to wipe the circumference of the roller.
    • Place the roller back and push the latches inwards until they click.
    • Open the printer and check if the badge stock is correctly placed in the roller.
Connectivity Issues
  • Printer is not receiving print commands from the PC or Tablet.
  • Verify the Ethernet cable is properly latched to the printer. If it wiggles or comes off easily, try another cable.
  • Verify the PC or Tablet is on the same network as the printer.
Unit not powering On
  • Power connection.
  • Power supply.
  • Check for loose cable connection, from the adapter or the wall plug.
  • Check the power box to see if the green LED light is on.
  • If everything is connected properly and the problem persists, change the power cable from another printer and put the bad one aside and label it.
