Rent Zebra Printers

Choosing the right printer depends on what you need to print. 

• For paper or synthetic labels and badges (like name badges): The ZD421, ZD620, and ZD621 series printers are ideal. They come in two main types: 
  • Direct Thermal (DT): These printers use heat-sensitive media and do not require a ribbon. They are great for applications with a short lifespan, like shipping labels or event badges. 
  • Thermal Transfer (TT): These printers use a ribbon to transfer ink onto the label, creating a more durable, long-lasting print. 
• For durable PVC cards (like ID cards or credentials): The ZC10L is a large-format, direct-to-card printer designed specifically for printing full-color, edge-to-edge event name badges in a single process.

Your Zebra printer rental will typically include the printer itself, a power supply, a power cord, and a USB cable. If you are renting a thermal transfer model, it may also include empty ribbon cores to get you started. Labels and badge media available to order; must be purchased separately.

The type of ink you need depends on the printing technology of your specific model. Most of our Zebra printers use Direct Thermal technology, which does not require any ink.

• Direct Thermal (DT) Models: Our ZD421, ZD621, and ZD620 Direct Thermal models do not use any ink or ribbon. They work by applying heat from the printhead directly onto special heat-sensitive media that turns black when heated. For these printers, you only need to load the correct direct thermal media. 

• Thermal Transfer (TT) Models: Our ZD620 Thermal Transfer model uses a thermal ribbon, which contains the ink. The printhead heats the ribbon, melting the ink onto the media to create a durable, long-lasting image. These ribbons come in different formulations (wax, wax/resin, or resin) to match the label material and durability requirements.
• ZC10L Name Badge Printer: The ZC10L card printer also uses thermal transfer technology to print on media and requires a specific print ribbon designed for this process.
