Troubleshooting

Issue Possible Cause Resolution
Printhead Open Alert / Red Light Is Visible (Potentially Flashing)
  1. Cover not closed properly.
  2. Badge stock is out of place.
  3. Object caught between the latches or the rim of the printer head.
  1. To successfully close the printer head: Watch Video -
    Proper Badge Loading

    1. Open the Printer Head by pulling on both Yellow Latches.
    2. Gently bring the printer head down and apply light pressure until you hear the release latches click. The light will turn green.
  2. When closing the Printer Head:
    1. Place the Badge Stock correctly through the Yellow guides in a straight manner.
    2. Gently bring the Printer Head down and apply light pressure until you hear the latches click.
  3. Applying the pressure but still not hearing the click:
    1. Open backup and remove any object obstructing the latches.
    2. Look for any damaged or broken Yellow latches.
Printing Issues: Double Badge Printing, Improper Badge Prints, Blank Printing, Not Printing/Calibrating
  1. Badge Stock Improperly Placed.
  2. Configuration Needed.
  3. Calibration needs to be performed.
  4. Not receiving information from the Computer or Tablet.
  5. Sensor needs to be positioned correctly.
  6. Printer won’t calibrate: "Load Backing Printer Paused".
  7. Printer won’t calibrate: "Reload All Continue".
  8. Printer stops calibration after one or two badges.
  9. One badge prints and then there’s a printer jam and the red light flashes.
  1. Insert Badge Stock with Timing Mark face down and arrows pointing towards the front. Adjust Yellow guides to avoid movement but not too tight.

  3. Set the printer to the correct Badge Stock Specifications:
    1. Press Home.
    2. Select Settings with the D-Pad.
    3. Toggle twice to the right to Media Type.
    4. Select the Correct Media Setting: Auto Detect, Mark, Gap/Notch.
  4. To Calibrate Printer (resets previous settings):
    1. Turn Off Cutter: Home > Settings > Cutter > Off.
    2. Select Home Icon, navigate to Settings icon, 6 clicks right.
    3. Scroll to display "No Cutter".
    4. Select Tools icon, navigate 4 clicks right to "Media Ribbon Calibration".
    5. Start calibration by pressing Start. Follow prompts to feed badges and complete calibration.
    6. Turn Cutter back On: Home > Settings > Cutter > Cut.
  5. Verify connectivity:
    1. Ensure Ethernet cable is tightly inserted on both ends.
    2. Ensure computer/tablet is on the same network as the printer.
    3. Adjust the Mark Sensor:
      1. Open printer head.
      2. Pull back badge stock until yellow slider is visible.
      3. Move slider below black mark on the badge.
Unit Not Powering On
  1. No Power connection.
  2. Try a different power cable.
  1. Check for loose cable connections in the back of the printer and adapter. Make sure the cable is plugged into the wall. Watch Video - Series Desktop Printer Highlight
  2. If problems persist, change the power cable from another printer.
Cutter Not Working
  1. Cutter Jammed.
  2. Turn Cutter On.
  1. Cutter jammed:
    1. Open the Printer by sliding yellow tabs on either side.
    2. Feed badge paper and close the printer.
    3. Hold Pause (II) button briefly to feed paper through until even cut achieved.
  2. Turning Cutter On:
    1. Select HOME icon from menu.
    2. Navigate and select SETTINGS.
    3. Use directional pad 6 times to Cutter Mode, select option.
    4. Press HOME to return to main menu.
Faded Text On The Badge Stock
  1. Badge stock residue under printhead.
  2. Darkness is at a low level.
  3. Speed is too high.
  1. Clean printer head with alcohol swab before printing.
  2. To increase Darkness:
    1. Select Home > Settings.
    2. Navigate to Darkness option and increase using directional pad.
  3. To lower printing speed:
    1. Select Home > Settings.
    2. Navigate to Print Speed and decrease slightly. Test print and repeat if needed.
